National freeway 5 is a freeway in Taiwan, which begins in Taipei City at Nangang Junction on National freeway 3 and ends in Su-ao, Yilan on Masai Road. Although it was called the Beiyi Freeway (Chinese abbreviation for Taipei to Yilan) prior to its final completion in June 2006, the official name is the Chiang Wei-shui Memorial Freeway, after the early twentieth century Taiwanese political activist and Yilan native Chiang Wei-shui.

- 베이이 고속공로(중국어 정체자: 北宜高速公路)는 타이완의 타이베이시부터 이란 현까지 이르는 총연장 54.3 km의 고속도로로 정식명칭은 타이완의 민족운동가인 (zh:蔣渭水)의 이름을 딴 쟝웨이수이 고속공로(蔣渭水高速公路, Weishui Chiang Memorial Freeway)라고 부른다. 타이완 최초로 동서를 연결하는 고속도로이기도 하다. 베이이 고속공로는 1991년 7월 (雪山隧道)의 착공과 함께 건설을 시작하였다. 쉐산 터널은 타이완에서 가장 긴 터널이자 세계에서 8번째로 긴 터널로 길이가 12.9km에 이른다. 쉐 산의 지형적 특성상 공사하기 매우 어려워서 15년이 지난 2006년 6월 16일에 비로소 전구간이 완공되었다. 전 구간 왕복 4차로 고속도로이며, 난강~쉐산 터널 구간은 80km/h, 쉐산 터널~쑤아오 구간은 90km/h의 속도제한이 있다. - 中華民國國道五號，又稱「蔣渭水高速公路」（英語：Chiang Wei-shui Memorial Freeway／Freeway No. 5），簡稱國五，目前通車路段為南港系統－蘇澳，又稱「北宜高速公路」，簡稱北宜高。 國道五號是臺灣首條橫跨東西部的高速公路，起於南港系統交流道、現訖於蘇澳交流道，全長54.3公里，係宜蘭縣通往大臺北地區與臺灣西部的交通要道。未來預計由蘇澳斷橋延伸至永樂與蘇花改、蘇花安銜接，並保留國5延伸太魯閣及日後往臺東延伸的可能性（蘇花改、蘇花安升級國道）。該公路的名稱是為了紀念日治時期出身宜蘭的社會運動領袖蔣渭水，其以致力於民族自救運動與文化運動之影響而聞名，並在南港起點處立有路名牌。由於雪山隧道為本公路的重要設施，臺灣民眾口語上常以「走雪隧」代稱經由此公路往來雙北、宜蘭兩地。 (zh)
