The New York, Ontario and Western Railway, more commonly known as the O&W or NYO&W, was a regional railroad with origins in 1868, lasting until March 29, 1957 (the last train ran from Norwich to Middletown, NY on this date), after which it was ordered liquidated by a US bankruptcy judge. It was the first notable U.S. railroad with its mainline entirely abandoned.

Il fut créé par DeWit C. Littlejohn en 1868 sous le nom de New York and Oswego Midland Railroad. Sa ligne principale partait de Weehawken, New Jersey dans la grande agglomération de New York pour atteindre la ville portuaire d'Oswego, sur les rives du lac Ontario. Il avait des embranchements vers Sranton; Kingston; Port Jervis; Delhi; Utica et Rome. La portion au sud de Cornwall était exploitée grâce à des droits de passages sur le West Shore Railroad, filiale du New York Central Railroad.
