The Nipmuc Nation is a state-recognized tribe of Nipmuc people, an Indigenous people of the Northeastern Woodlands based in South Grafton, Massachusetts. They are the only state-recognized tribe in Massachusetts, according to the National Conference of State Legislators. The Nipmuc Nation also uses the term Chaubunagungamaug Nipmuck, of Worcester County, Massachusetts. Most of the group's more than 500 members live in and around Chaubunagungamaug Reservation, Hassanamisco Reservation and the city of Worcester. Cheryll Toney Holley was elected as the chief in 2013.
