Nordwolle was a dominant company that processed wool and worsted, it closed between 1981 and 1984. The building and the factory housing is listed as a Denkmalschutz The museum is an Anchor point on the European Route of Industrial Heritage.

- Die Norddeutsche Wollkämmerei & Kammgarnspinnerei (kurz Nordwolle) in Delmenhorst war ein bedeutendes Unternehmen für die Verarbeitung von Wolle und Kammgarn, das zwischen 1884 und 1981 bestand. Die erhaltenen Bauten auf dem Werksgelände sind eines der großen Industriedenkmale Europas und ein bedeutendes Zeugnis historistischer Fabrikarchitektur. Auf dem Gelände der stillgelegten Fabrik entstand ein Stadtteil mit moderner Wohnbebauung in Verbindung mit den unter Denkmalschutz stehenden Gebäuden. Die erhaltenen Bauten auf dem Werksgelände sind eines der großen Industriedenkmale Europas und ein bedeutendes Zeugnis historistischer Fabrikarchitektur. Auf dem Gelände der stillgelegten Fabrik entstand ein Stadtteil mit moderner Wohnbebauung in Verbindung mit den unter Denkmalschutz stehenden Gebäuden. Hier befindet sich auch das Nordwestdeutsche Museum für IndustrieKultur. 1929 und 1930 wurden im Sirius-Filmverfahren Werbeclips gedreht, in denen auch Brigitte Borchert mitwirkte.
