The Province of North Rhine (German: Provinz Nordrhein), also called North Rhine Province (Nordrhein-Provinz or Nord-Rheinprovinz), was a short-lived administrative region in the British occupation zone of Germany, which was formed from the northern part of the Rhine Province after the end of the Second World War. Parts of the province's responsibilities and authorities (e.g. the Landeskliniken) were later transferred to the Rhineland Regional Association.

| - Die Provinz Nordrhein (auch Nordrhein-Provinz oder Nord-Rheinprovinz, kurz NRP) war nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg eine kurzlebige Verwaltungseinheit auf dem Gebiet der britischen Besatzungszone Deutschlands, die aus dem Nordteil der Rheinprovinz entstand. Sie wurde am 20. Juni 1945 auf der Grundlage der Berliner Erklärung und der aus ihr resultierenden Feststellung von Besatzungszonen der Hauptsiegermächte des Zweiten Weltkriegs aus den Regierungsbezirken Aachen, Düsseldorf und Köln der preußischen Rheinprovinz gebildet. Der Südteil der Rheinprovinz, bestehend aus den Regierungsbezirken Koblenz und Trier, war am 5. Juni 1945 Teil der französischen Besatzungszone geworden. Die Teilung des Rheinlands, das 1815 durch den Wiener Kongress unter der preußischen Krone vereinigt worden war, in Gebiete mit unterschiedlichen Regierungen und Verwaltungen – ab Sommer 1946 in die Länder Nordrhein-Westfalen und Rheinland-Pfalz – war damit vorgezeichnet. Die Provinz Nordrhein bestand bis zum 20. Oktober 1946. An diesem Tag hob die im August 1946 gebildete Regierung des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen die Oberpräsidien von Nordrhein und Westfalen auf Anweisung der britischen Besatzungsmacht auf. Sitz des Oberpräsidiums war zunächst Bonn, ab Oktober 1945 Düsseldorf (Landeshaus Düsseldorf). Oberpräsidenten waren Johannes Fuchs (Zentrum, vom 4. Juli bis Oktober 1945) sowie der spätere Bundesinnenminister Robert Lehr (CDU, Oktober 1945 bis August 1946). Sie unterstanden besatzungsrechtlichen Weisungen von John Ashworth Barraclough, dem britischen Militärgouverneur der Provinz Nordrhein. Seit dem 14. Dezember 1945 hatte die Provinz Nordrhein als beratendes Gremium einen Provinzialrat, der mit ernannten Vertretern politischer Parteien und des öffentlichen Lebens besetzt war. Ein Teil der provinzialen Aufgaben und Einrichtungen (wie z. B. die Landeskliniken) ging später in die Trägerschaft des Landschaftsverbands Rheinland über. (de)

- The Province of North Rhine (German: Provinz Nordrhein), also called North Rhine Province (Nordrhein-Provinz or Nord-Rheinprovinz), was a short-lived administrative region in the British occupation zone of Germany, which was formed from the northern part of the Rhine Province after the end of the Second World War. It was formed on 5 June 1945 on the basis of the Berlin Declaration and the resulting creation of occupation zones for the victors of World War II out of the administrative regions (Regierungsbezirke) of Aachen, Düsseldorf and Cologne, which were all part of Prussia's Rhine Province. The southern part of Rhine province, consisting of the administrative regions of Koblenz and Trier became part of the French occupation zone on 5 June 1945. The division of the Rhineland, which had been united in 1815 by the Congress of Vienna under the Prussian crown, was thus pre-destined to be split between different governments and administrations - from summer 1946 into the states of North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate. Rhine Province existed until 20 October 1946. On that day the government formed in August 1946 for the state of North Rhine-Westphalia dissolved the upper councils of the provinces of North Rhine and Westphalia on the instructions of the British occupying power. The headquarters of the upper council or Oberpräsidium of North Rhine was initially in Bonn, but in October 1945 it moved to Düsseldorf (Landeshaus Düsseldorf). Its Oberpräsidents were Johannes Fuchs (centre, to October 1945) and the later federal minister, Robert Lehr, (CDU, from October 1945 to August 1946). They were under the occupying authority of John Ashworth Barraclough, the British military governor of the Province of North Rhine.
