The O'Brien class of destroyers was a class of six ships designed by and built for the United States Navy shortly before the United States entered World War I. The O'Brien class was the third of five classes of destroyers that were known as the "thousand tonners", because they were the first U.S. destroyers over 1,000 long tons (1,016 t) displacement.

(en) De O'Brienklasse torpedobootjagers dienden in de Amerikaanse marine tijdens de Eerste Wereldoorlog. De klasse bestond in totaal uit zes schepen. Het waren de eerste torpedobootjagers met een waterverplaatsing van meer dan 1000 ton. Vier scheepswerven waren betrokken bij de bouw van de zes jagers. William Cramp and Sons bouwde er drie en Bath Iron Works, Fore River Shipyard en de New York Shipbuilding Company elk een.
