Paksat-1R (or Paksat-1 Replacement) is a geosynchronous, communications satellite that was manufactured by China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC) and operated by the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO), an executive space authority of the Government of Pakistan.

Anschließend wurde der Satellit Tests unterzogen und auf die von der Internationalen Fernmeldeunion für Pakistan reservierte Position bei 38° östlicher Länge manövriert,bevor er am 30. November 2011 an SUPARCO übergeben wurde. O satélite foi baseado na plataforma DFH-4 Bus e sua expectativa de vida útil é de 15 anos.
