- XII Panegyrici Latini or Twelve Latin Panegyrics is the conventional title of a collection of twelve ancient Roman and late antique prose panegyric orations written in Latin.The authors of most of the speeches in the collection are anonymous, but appear to have been Gallic in origin. Aside from the first panegyric, composed by Pliny the Younger in AD 100, the other speeches in the collection date to between AD 289 and 389 and were probably composed in Gaul. The original manuscript, discovered in 1433, has perished; only copies remain. (en)

Стиль панегириков соответствует стилю галльских панегиристов. Оригинальный манускрипт обнаружил в 1433 году епископ Феррары Джованни Ауриспа. Оригинал не сохранился до наших дней. Помимо речи Плиния в сборник вошло прославление императора Феодосия Великого, написанное знаменитым галльским ритором Пакатом Дрепанием, а также речь Клавдия Мамертина в честь императора Юлиана II и речь Назария в честь императора Константина Великого. À part le discours adressé par Pline le Jeune à Trajan placé en introduction et qui date de l'an 100, les onze discours suivants ont été prononcés dans la période du Dominat, entre l'an 289 (sous Dioclétien et Maximien) et l'an 389 (sous Théodose). - De Panegyrici Latini (ook Latijnse panegyrieken of Latijnse lofredes) is een collectie van twaalf Romeinse lofredes (panegyrieken). De schrijvers van het grootste deel van de lofredes in de collectie zijn anoniem. Wel lijken zij alle van Gallische oorsprong te zijn geweest. Afgezien van de eerste redevoering, de panegyriek voor Trajanus door Plinius de Jongere in 100 n.Chr, dateren de lofredes uit de periode tussen 289 en 389 n.Chr. Het originele manuscript met daarin Panegyrici Latini werd in 1433 ontdekt. Dit manuscript is echter verloren gegaan. Er zijn op dit moment alleen nog kopieën overgebleven. (nl)
