William Clayton "Pee Wee" Marquette (October 10, 1914 – September 21, 1992) was the former master of ceremonies at the Birdland jazz club in New York City. Born in Montgomery, Alabama, Marquette was the son of Willis and Kinnie Markett (or sometimes, Markette). Marquette was under four feet tall; some reports have stated three-and-a-half feet. He appeared on Late Night with David Letterman on February 6, 1985, during which he discussed his memories of being at the jazz club. Marquette died of pancreatic cancer in September 1992.
