Plaka is a village in Lasithi, Crete. It is part of the community , in the municipal unit Agios Nikolaos. It neighbours the town of Elounda and is close to the historical island of Spinalonga. In the vicinity are the ancient cities (now in ruins) of Olous and Lato, which Dorian settlements were frequently in conflict with each other over territory disputes. Tourist boats depart from Plaka to Spinalonga on a daily basis. The one way boat passage requires approximately ten minutes. The village features prominently in the novel The Island by Victoria Hislop and its TV adaptation To Nisi.

| - Η Πλάκα είναι παραθαλάσσιο χωριό της Κοινότητος Βρουχά του δήμου Αγίου Νικολάου, της περιφερειακής ενότητος Λασιθίου της Κρήτης. Σύμφωνα με την απογραφή του 2011 έχει 94 κατοίκους. Απέχει 16 χιλιόμετρα από τον Άγιο Νικόλαο και είναι κτισμένη σε υψόμετρο 5 μ. Έχει χαρακτηριστεί παραδοσιακός οικισμός. Ο οικισμός αναφέρεται για πρώτη φορά στην απογραφή του 1920. Πιθανόν δημιουργήθηκε μετά την εγκαθίδρυση του λεπροκομείου στη Σπιναλόγκα το 1904. Στην Πλάκα δημιουργήθηκαν καταστήματα τροφίμων και άλλων ειδών πρώτης ανάγκης για τους έγκλειστους λεπρούς, καθώς και τους επισκέπτες. Μετά το κλείσιμο του λεπροκομείου, η Πλάκα μετατράπηκε σε τουριστικό προορισμό, με τη δημιουργία χώρων εστίασης και καταλυμάτων.
