Public opinion of same-sex marriage in the United States has changed dramatically over the past several decades, and in the 2020s the overwhelming majority of Americans approves of the legality of these marriages. A 2021 Gallup poll found that 70% of Americans supported same-sex marriage, including 55% of Republicans, whose support has historically been less than that of Democrats.
