- Roberta Dodd Crawford, née le 5 août 1897 à Bonham (Texas) et morte à Dallas le 14 juin 1954, est une soprano lyrique afro-américaine qui s'est produite aux États-Unis et à Paris dans les années 1920 et 1930. Épouse du prince activiste Kojo Tovalou Houénou du Dahomey, à la mort de ce dernier, les autorités coloniales françaises confisquent les biens du couple, et elle se trouve sans ressources. Elle passe misérablement les années d’Occupation à Paris, avant de retourner au Texas où elle meurt d’une crise cardiaque (à l’âge de 56 ans) en 1954. (fr)
- Roberta Dodd Crawford (5 August 1897 – 14 June 1954) was an African-American lyric soprano and voice instructor who performed throughout the United States and Paris in the 1920s and 1930s. Roberta was born in Bonham, Texas before studying singing in Nashville, Chicago, and Paris. While in Paris, she married Prince Kojo Tovalou Houénou of Dahomey. When Houénou died in a French prison, Roberta was left without access to their marriage funds and returned to Paris where she lived through the Nazi occupation from 1940 until 1944. After the war, she returned to Texas where she died in 1954 in Dallas. (en)
