The Russian Jewish Congress is a non-profit charitable fund and Russian Jewish organization. It was established in 1996 by a group of Jewish businessmen, workers and religious figures with the goal of reviving Jewish life in Russia.

Dès 1996, une nouvelle organisation émerge, le Congrès juif russe à l'ambition plus grande puisqu'elle couvre toutes les facettes du monde juif et ne se cantonne pas au fait religieux, le KEROOR subsistant comme organisation religieuse. Le Congrès juif russe (RJC) est un fonds de bienfaisance à but non lucratif et une des plus importantes organisations laïques des juifs de Russie. Il a été créé en 1996 à l'initiative d'un groupe d'hommes d'affaires juifs, les travailleurs actifs et des personnalités religieuses de renouveau de la vie juive en Russie.[pas clair] [1] Le Congrès juif russe unit les juifs les plus influents et les plus prospères de Russie, de hauts fonctionnaires, des hommes d'affaires et des acteurs de la science et de la culture. En 1997 a été créée la Fédération des communautés juives de la communauté des États indépendants (en) qui rassemble les communautés de l'ancienne URSS. It unites some of the influential and prosperous Jews in Russia, high-standing state officers, businessmen and actors of science and culture. The RJC supports existing communities and fosters the creation of new communities. At the same time helps them to strengthen and to find their own sources of funding and stipulates terms for independently allocating funds for the local communities’ needs. (en)
