Ruth Mumbi (born 6 November 1980), born in Kiamaiko, a Nairobi slum is a Kenyan Human Rights Defender with a record defending vulnerable women who are at risk. In 2010 she founded and led 'Warembo Ni Yes' which was a group of young women who were keen on ensuring the passing of the current constitution of Kenya. She is the leader of Bunge la Wamama mashinani, a platform that has earned her recognition in her work as a human rights defender. During Autumn 2014 she participated in the human rights fellowship programme at the University of York in the United Kingdom.

Het doel van deze beweging was het mobiliseren van jonge vrouwen om hun toegenomen rechten te begrijpen in de voorgestelde grondwet, die later door de meerderheid van de Kenianen werd goedgekeurd in een referendum en van kracht werd. In 2013 was Mumbi finalist van de Frontline Defenders International Human Rights Award. Op 21 april 2017 werd haar broer Kamau Mwangi doodgeschoten door de politie.
