The SS 90 was a British sports car first built by SS Cars in Coventry, England in 1935. In 1945, the company changed its name to Jaguar. The car used a six-cylinder side-valve Standard engine of 2663 cc with an output of 50 kW. The engine differed from the one used in the ordinary cars by having Dural connecting rods, an aluminium cylinder head with 7:1 compression ratio, and twin RAG carburettors. 2,642 mm long, the chassis was a shortened version of the one used on the SS 1, and was also supplied by Standard. Suspension was by half-elliptical springs all round, with an underslung back axle. The braking system was Bendix.

Die Höchstgeschwindigkeit betrug 140 km/h. Nach einer kleinen Serie von nur 24 Exemplaren wurde die Produktion noch im Frühjahr 1935 eingestellt. Byl ale zkrácen o necelých 40 cm kvůli sportovnější a hbitější jízdě. Rozvor náprav nyní činil 2 642 mm. Stejně jako mateřský SS 1 měl tuhou přední i zadní nápravu s půleliptickými listovými pery. Pohon opět zajišťoval řadový šestiválec Standard s označením 20HP o objemu 2 663 cm3 a výkonu 68 koní (51 kW) z SS 1. Byl pouze výš vyladěn a zvýšen kompresní poměr na 7:1. To stačilo zhruba 1 150 kg těžkému stroji k max. rychlosti 140 km/h a zrychlení z 0 na 60 mil/h (0-96 km/h) za 18 s.
