Sale (Greek: Σάλη, Sálē) was a Greek city located on the south coast of ancient Thrace, near the west mouth of the Hebrus, and nearly equidistant from Zone and Doriscus, thus between the river Nestos and the Hebrus. Herodotus tells us that it was founded as a colony from Samothrace. While Livy wrote that during his time the city belonged to the Maroneia. It was a member of the Delian League as its name appears in the tribute lists of Athens for 422/1 BCE. Its site is located near modern Alexandropolis.

Στην τελευταία ανακαλύπτονται κατά καιρούς αρχαιολογικά ευρήματα ελληνιστικών και ρωμαϊκών χρόνων, ενώ έχουν ήδη βρεθεί διάφορα τυχαία ευρήματα μελανοβαφούς κεραμικής, δύο κιβωτιόσχημοι Ελληνιστικοί τάφοι, οροθετική επιγραφή του 1ου αιώνα μ.Χ, ακέφαλο μαρμάρινο άγαλμα εφήβου και τμήμα μαρμάρινου πεσσού με κυμάτιο και ανάγλυφη κεφαλή, καθώς και πλάκα με την επιγραφή «Όρος χώρας ιεράς Θεών των εν Σαμοθράκη» (όριο της ιερής χώρας των Θεών της Σαμοθράκης) που επιβεβαιώνουν την ταύτιση του χώρου. Aπό την μαρτυρία του Hροδότου προκύπτει ότι η Σάλη ήταν παραθαλάσσια. Eίναι επίσης πιθανόν ότι διέθετε και λιμένα. (el)

Es citada por Heródoto como una ciudad cuyos habitantes procedían de Samotracia y fue —junto a Zona— una de las ciudades próximas al promontorio Serreo (actual ) en cuyas playas las naves del ejército persa de Jerjes arribaron para que sus dotaciones pudieran descansar mientras en Dorisco se procedía a un recuento del ejército. Esto ocurrió al inicio de la expedición del año 480 a. C. contra Grecia. La ciudad debió pertenecer a la liga de Delos puesto que aparece en una lista de tributos a Atenas del año 422/1 a. C. (es)
