Sedlec Abbey is a former Cistercian monastery in Sedlec, part of Kutná Hora in the Czech Republic. Founded in 1142, it was the first Cistercian foundation in Bohemia. Along with the rest of the Kutná Hora town centre, it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995, because of its outstanding Baroque architecture. It is well known for housing the Sedlec Ossuary.

Au début du XVIIIe siècle, l'abbatiale, actuelle église de l'Assomption de Sedlec, est entièrement rebâtie et les bâtiments conventuels sont reconstruits, sous la direction de l'architecte (cs). Elle est achevée par Jan Blažej Santini-Aichel. Les fresques baroques du réfectoire sont l'œuvre de (cs). Les bâtiments sont abandonnés à la fin du XVIIIe siècle. En 1812, une manufacture de tabac s'installe dans les lieux et continue d'occuper une partie des bâtiments. À la fin du XXe siècle, l'abbaye est déclarée Monument culturel et, en 1995, elle fait partie du périmètre du secteur inscrit au Patrimoine mondial par l'UNESCO. (fr)
