Sikyonios or Sikyonioi (Greek: Σικυώνιος/Σικυώνιοι), translated as The Sicyonian(s) or The Man from Sicyon, is an Ancient Greek comedy by Menander. About half of the play has survived in fragments of papyrus used to stuff several mummies in the cemetery of Medinet-el-Ghoran in the Faiyum, where they were discovered in 1901 by Pierre Jouguet. The first acts are almost completely lost, but the rest, although the manuscript is often corrupt, lacunose and hard to read, allows a fair reconstruction of the plot.

| - Sikyonioi oder Sikyonios (altgriechisch Σικυῶνιοι „Die Sikyonier“; Σικυῶνιος „Der Sikyonier“) ist eine griechische Komödie des attischen Dichters Menander. Sie wurde um 300 v. Chr. geschrieben und handelt von zwei Männern, von denen der eine zu Reichtum gekommen und der andere in Armut geraten ist. Heute ist nur etwa die Hälfte des Stücks in Papyrusfragmenten erhalten geblieben, die zur Verkleidung der sargartigen Kartonage für Mumien auf dem Friedhof von im Fayyum-Becken verwendet worden waren und dort 1901 von Pierre Jouguet entdeckt wurden. Die ersten beiden Akte sind bis auf eine kurze Stelle des Prologs vollständig verloren, vom dritten Akt ist das Ende erhalten, von den Akten 4 und 5 sind größere Partien überliefert. Die gefundenen Teile erlauben daher nur eine vage Rekonstruktion der Handlung. Zudem besteht das Manuskript aus zahlreichen Korruptelen, ist oft lückenhaft und schwer lesbar. So sind von den einst über 1000 Versen, die aus der Nummerierung des Papyrus der Sorbonne zu erschließen sind, nur rund 450 überhaupt in Resten erhalten. Von diesen sind etwa 200 Verse vollständig überliefert. (de)

Cependant, il sait que la jeune fille est athénienne, alors que lui-même est citoyen de Sicyone : il ne peut donc l'épouser. L'intrigue est compliquée par l'intervention de l'Athénien Moschion, amoureux lui aussi de Philouméné, et de son père Smicrinès. À la fin, on s'aperçoit que Stratophanès est en fait athénien : il peut épouser Philouméné. La pièce était très appréciée dans l'Antiquité, comme en atteste une fresque d'Éphèse datant du IIe siècle apr. J.-C. ainsi qu'une lettre du recueil d'Alciphron (IV, 19, 19). (fr)
