| - Songs of the Century ist eine Liste von Liedern, die 2001 von der Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) erstellt und veröffentlicht wurde. Sie repräsentiert viele Genres und alle Zeiträume des 20. Jahrhunderts. Das Ziel der Liste war es, die musikalische Kultur der USA an den amerikanischen Schulen zu bewerben. Es wurden Hunderte von Politikern, Personen des Musik- und Mediengeschäfts, Lehrern und Studenten nach den wichtigsten Liedern befragt. Die Wähler wurden von der RIAA ausgewählt. - Songs of the Century (en français « Chansons du siècle ») est une liste de chansons construite et publiée en 2001 aux États-Unis par la Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Elle représente beaucoup de genres musicaux et de périodes du XXe siècle. Le but était de résumer la culture musicale des États-Unis dans les établissements d'enseignements. Pour cela, des centaines d'hommes politiques, de personnes exerçant dans le domaine de la musique et des médias, de professeurs et d'étudiants ont été interviewés. - The "Songs of the Century" list is part of an education project by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), the National Endowment for the Arts, and Scholastic Inc. that aims to "promote a better understanding of America's musical and cultural heritage" in American schools. Hundreds of voters, who included elected officials, people from the music industry and from the media, teachers, and students, were asked in 2001 by the NEA (National Endowment for the Arts) and the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) to choose the top 365 songs (not necessarily by Americans) of the 20th century with historical significance in mind. RIAA selected the voters, and about 15% (200) of the 1,300 selected voters responded. (en)

- La Songs of the Century è una lista di canzoni nata dall'iniziativa della Recording Industry Association of America, della National Endowment for the Arts e della Scholastic che mira a promuovere una migliore comprensione del patrimonio musicale e culturale statunitense. A centinaia di elettori, tra i quali molti noti personaggi del mondo della musica e dei media, insegnanti e studenti, è stato chiesto nel 2001 di scegliere le canzoni (non necessariamente statunitensi) del XX secolo con significato storico. Gli elettori sono stati selezionati dalla RIAA, anche se solo il 15% dei 1.300 elettori selezionati ha risposto. (it)

Сотням респондентов, в числе которых были: должностные лица, люди из музыкальной индустрии и средств массовой информации, преподаватели и студенты, в 2001 году было предложено выбрать 365 лучших песен (не обязательно сочиненных американцами в XX-веке), с наивысшим историческим значением в их памяти. - Seznam skladeb století je částí vzdělávacího projektu, který vznikl v USA ve spolupráci organizací Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA- Americká asociace hudebního průmyslu), (NEA- Národní nadace pro umění) a (SC- Školní vydavatelství pro publikaci vzdělávacích materiálů). Záměrem tohoto projektu bylo zpřehlednit pro studenty amerických škol kulturní odkaz hudebního vývoje populární hudby 20. století. (cs)
- Lista Songs of the Century – część projektu edukacyjnego Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) i , którego celem jest „promocja lepszego pojmowania muzycznego i kulturowego dziedzictwa Ameryki” w szkołach Stanów Zjednoczonych. W 2001 roku poproszono 1300 ludzi, wśród których znaleźli się przedstawiciele przemysłu muzycznego, mediów, nauczyciele oraz studenci, o dokonanie wyboru 365 najlepszych utworów muzycznych o historycznym znaczeniu, stworzonych przez Amerykanów i powstałych w XX wieku. Mimo że elektorzy zostali wybrani przez RIAA, odpowiedzi udzieliło jedynie 200 (15%) spośród nich. Listę ogłoszono 7 marca 2001 roku w Bibliotece Kongresu Stanów Zjednoczonych. Na 1. miejscu znalazł się utwór „Over the Rainbow” z 1939 roku w wykonaniu Ju (pl)
