The Most Holy Trinity Cathedral (Spanish: Catedral de la Santísima Trinidad) Also Sonsonate Cathedral is the name given to a religious building affiliated with the Catholic Church located in the city of Sonsonate in the department of the same name, in the western part of the Central American country of El Salvador. As its name indicates this is dedicated to the mystery Christian of the Holy Trinity. It is under the pastoral responsibility of Bishop Constantino Barrera Morales.

El actual edificio empezó como parroquia "central" y fue bendecido en 1887, un Viernes de Dolores 1 de abril de ese año, siendo elevado al estatus de catedral en 1986. Se trata de un templo que sigue el rito romano o latino y es la iglesia principal de la diócesis de Sonsonate (Dioecesis Sonsonatensis) que fue creada mediante la bula "De grege Christi" del entonces papa Juan Pablo II. Esta bajo la responsabilidad pastoral del obispo Constantino Barrera Morales. Las principales Imágenes del templo catedralicio son: La Patrona de Sonsonate Santa María de Candelaria, Jesús Nazareno "Protector Perpetuo" de Sonsonate (segundo Nazareno en consagrarse en El Salvador) junto a la Santísima Virgen de Dolores en su camarín. Es el mayor punto de referencia de la Cuaresma y Semana Santa Salvadoreña; del templo emergen las imponentes procesiones del Nazareno y el Santo Entierro de Cristo (procesión más concurrida del país), y las procesiones de los Viacrucis en los viernes de Cuaresma. It is a temple that follows the Roman or Latin rite and is the main church of the diocese of Sonsonate (Dioecesis Sonsonatensis) which was created by The bull "De grege Christi" of the then Pope John Paul II.
