South Brook is a town in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It is located in the center region of the island of Newfoundland. The town had a population of 420 in 2021, down from 482 in the Canada 2016 Census. South Brook was not listed as a community until the 1940s, although history documents suggest it may have been in existence as a winter community as early as 70 years prior. South Brook has historically had a strong logging industry and at one time there was also a rabbit-canning factory in town. Kona Beach Park is located in South Brook.

South Brook a toujours eu une industrie forestière forte et à une époque, il y avait aussi une usine de mise en conserve de lapin en ville. La région est riche en histoire des Béothuk et des Mi'kmaq et des artefacts ont été récupérés par les résidents locaux, ce qui ne fait que consolider cette histoire. Rowsell's Hill, une colline importante qui se dresse en toile de fond pour la ville, a été nommée en l'honneur d'un pionnier ayant perdu la vie au profit de la bande indienne à cette époque. On sait qu'il leur a causé beaucoup de problèmes à cause de son aversion pour les autochtones, ce qui a entraîné sa mort. Kona Beach Park est situé à South Brook. (fr)

Rowsell's Hill, a prominent hill which rises as a backdrop to the town, was named for an early settler who died to the Indian band at the time.
