TRTÉ is an Irish children's television program that airs on public service broadcaster RTÉ2. Its target demographic is people between 7 and 15 years of age. On some networks — Virgin Media Ireland, eir Vision and Vodafone TV—TRTÉ is a separate channel in the children's section that simulcasts TRTÉ on RTÉ2. In late 2016, significant cutbacks drove TRTÉ to downsize and carry fewer programmes such as News2day and other content for the 7 to 15-year-old age group. Its sister block for teenagers was dropped in 2016, while TRTÉ now begins at the earlier time of 4:30, and is now branded as RTÉ2.
