Taktsé Castle (Tibetan: སྟག་རྩེ་, Wylie: Stag-rtse) was a castle located in the (Wylie: Phying-ba) district of Chonggyä (Wylie: Phyongs-rgyas) in central Tibet. According to legend, it was home to the kings of Tibet before Songtsen Gampo (604–650) moved his capital to Lhasa. It later became the birthplace of the Great Fifth Dalai Lama (1617–1682), whose aristocratic family had made their home there. Its ruins remain.

Il fut plus tard le lieu de naissance du Lobsang Gyatso, 5e dalaï-lama (1617 – 1682). Cette fortification a été photographiée en 1949 par le diplomate de la couronne britannique Hugh Edward Richardson, et alors représentant de la Mission de l'Inde à Lhassa et est actuellement en ruine. Le monastère de Riwo Dechen, partiellement en ruine est reconstruit à partir de 1985. Chongye est le lieu où se trouvent les tombes des premiers rois du Tibet, dans ce que l'on appelle la vallée des rois. (fr)

Uit deze regel viel ook een mand waarin twee boeddhistische teksten aantrof: een stoepa en de bekende mantra: Om mani padme hum. Door de kracht van deze voorwerpen werd de koning zestien jaar oud en regeerde hij nog zestig jaar door. (nl)
