The Tangier Speech (Arabic: خطاب طنجة, French: discours de Tanger) was a momentous speech appealing for the independence and territorial unity of Morocco, delivered by Sultan Muhammad V of Morocco on April 9, 1947 at the Mendoubia in what was then the Tangier International Zone, complemented by a second speech the next day at the Grand Mosque of Tangier. At the time, Morocco was under French and Spanish colonial rule, with Tangier designated as an international zone.

- في 19 جمادى الأولى 1366 الموافق ل 10 أفريل 1947 ، زار ملك المغرب محمد الخامس مدينة طنجة الساحلية و ألقى فيها خطابا تكلم فيه عن وقوفه لصالح تحرير المغرب من الهيمنة الإستعمارية و التحرر التام من أي شكل من أشكال السيطرة و التدخل الخارجي في محتوى خطبته، تعرض الملك لمستقبل المغرب و وحدتها الترابية، دون أن يتعرض لسلطات الحماية الفرنسية التي كانت لها مهمة تسيير البلاد ، لكن إذا كانت هذه السياسة التي بوشرت منذ سنة 1946 قد استقبلت بنوع من الارتياح من طرف بعض الوطنيين، فإن غالبيتهم قد اعتبرها غير كافية مادام أنها لم تأت بجديد في مجال الاعتراف بحق المغرب في الاستقلال. | - في 19 جمادى الأولى 1366 الموافق ل 10 أفريل 1947 ، زار ملك المغرب محمد الخامس مدينة طنجة الساحلية و ألقى فيها خطابا تكلم فيه عن وقوفه لصالح تحرير المغرب من الهيمنة الإستعمارية و التحرر التام من أي شكل من أشكال السيطرة و التدخل الخارجي في محتوى خطبته، تعرض الملك لمستقبل المغرب و وحدتها الترابية، دون أن يتعرض لسلطات الحماية الفرنسية التي كانت لها مهمة تسيير البلاد ، لكن إذا كانت هذه السياسة التي بوشرت منذ سنة 1946 قد استقبلت بنوع من الارتياح من طرف بعض الوطنيين، فإن غالبيتهم قد اعتبرها غير كافية مادام أنها لم تأت بجديد في مجال الاعتراف بحق المغرب في الاستقلال. لهذا السبب فشلت مبادرة بسرعة وانتهت برفض الوطنيين «التعاون» مع المقيم العام الجديد. وقد أقيل هذا الأخير بعد أن تمت المناداة عليه في فرنسا سنة 1947 ليعوض بالجنرال جوان. غير أن أهم مكسب للوطنية المغربية من هذه المبادرة هو خطاب طنجة المهم بالنسبة لتاريخ المغرب (ar)
