Thüring Bräm (born 10 April 1944) is a Swiss composer and conductor. Bräm graduated from a high school in Basel. He then studied piano, conducting and composition in Basel and musicology at the University of Basel and the University of Heidelberg. He worked as a conductor and répétiteur at the Curtis Institute of Music, the Aspen Music Festival and School and holds a Master of Arts in Composition from the University of California, Berkeley. From 1984 to 1990 he was president of the Jeunesses Musicales de Suisse. Bräm was influenced by composers such as Anton Webern, Pierre Boulez and John Cage.
