Tomaz Salomão (born 16 October 1954) is a Mozambican politician and economist. He was Minister of Economy and Finance from 1994 to 2000. He served as the third Executive Secretary of the Southern African Development Community (SADC). Salomão was appointed at the 2005 Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Southern African Development Community in Gaborone, Botswana. He earned his doctorate at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, United States.

Salomão stammte aus einem einfachen Elternhaus. Sein Vater João Salomão Cumbana war als Sanitäter, Buchhalter und Lehrer tätig. Seine Mutter war Krankenschwester und Hausangestellte. Die Grundschulbildung erwarb er zwischen 1960 und 1965 an der Carneiro-Araújo-Schule in Inhambane. Bis 1969 weilte er an der Industrie- und Handelsschule (Escola Industrial e Comercial) von Inhambane und erhielt dort einen Berufsaubschluss. Danach ging er an das Handelsinstitut von Maputo (Instituto Comercial de Maputo), wo er bis 1972 verblieb. 1972 machte er seinen Abschluss als Wirtschaftsprüfer. (de)
