Trace of Stones (German: Spur der Steine, pronounced [ʃpuːɐ̯ deːɐ̯̯ ˈʃtaɪ̯nə]) is a 1966 East German film by Frank Beyer. It was based on the eponymous novel by Erik Neutsch and starred Manfred Krug in the main role. After its release, the film was shown only for a few days, before being shelved due to conflicts with the Socialist Unity Party, the ruling communist party in the German Democratic Republic. Only after 23 years was the film shown again, in November 1989.

Regisseur war Frank Beyer, der mit Karl Georg Egel auch das Drehbuch verfasste. Es basiert auf dem gleichnamigen Roman von Erik Neutsch. Der Film wurde am Vorabend der 8. Arbeiterfestspiele der DDR in Potsdam uraufgeführt, lief anschließend in einigen Kinos, bevor er wegen „antisozialistischer Tendenzen“ aus dem Programm genommen wurde. Er gehört damit zu den Verbotsfilmen der DDR. Erst im Oktober 1989 durfte der Film wieder in der DDR aufgeführt werden, wenig später wurde er bei der Berlinale 1990 in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland gezeigt.
