Jsou to nezelené, většinou drobné, saprofytní byliny s redukovanými listy a drobnými květy, vyživující se pomocí mykorhizy. - Las triuridáceas (nombre científico Triuridaceae) son una familia de plantas monocotiledóneas perteneciente al orden Pandanales. Son en general pequeñas saprófitas sin clorofila y micoheterotróficas, con pequeñas flores que tienen tépalos punteados y muchos carpelos separados, y el fruto con una superficie muy irregular. Poseen una distribución pantropical, si bien están escasamente representadas en África. - Triuridaceae are a family of tropical and subtropical flowering plants, including nine genera with a total of approximately 55 known species. All members lack chlorophyll and are mycoheterotrophic (obtain food by digesting intracellular fungi, often erroneously called 'saprophytes'). The heterotrophic lifestyle of these plants has resulted in a loss of xylem vessels and stomata, and a reduction of leaves to scales.
