Ulmus × hollandica 'Nottingham' is an elm cultivar. It was distributed from the early nineteenth century as 'Siberian elm' by Castle Nurseries, Nottingham, and much planted locally. Richens (1983) described it as a hybrid, possibly of French origin, between wych elm Ulmus glabra and field elm Ulmus minor. He called it Nottingham elm. Not to be confused with Downton elm, another hybrid cultivar from Nottinghamshire.

has abstract	Ulmus × hollandica 'Nottingham' is an elm cultivar. It was distributed from the early nineteenth century as 'Siberian elm' by Castle Nurseries, Nottingham, and much planted locally. Richens (1983) described it as a hybrid, possibly of French origin, between wych elm Ulmus glabra and field elm Ulmus minor. He called it Nottingham elm. It is not known why Castle Nurseries called the cultivar 'Siberian elm', a name widely accepted in Nottingham in the 19th and early 20th centuries (see 'Cultivation'). The species Ulmus pumila Siberian elm was described by Loudon in the 1830s, but specimens are not believed to have been in UK collections or nurseries before the 20th century (see Ulmus pumila § 'Cultivation and uses'). It was, however, cultivated in Spain from the 17th century, where it hybridized with field elm. Not to be confused with Downton elm, another hybrid cultivar from Nottinghamshire. (en)
