- La Resolució 1275 del Consell de Seguretat de les Nacions Unides fou adoptada per unanimitat el 19 de novembre de 1999.Després de recordar les resolucions 1242 (1999) i 1266 (1999) sobre el el Consell, sota el Capítol VII de la Carta de les Nacions Unides, va ampliar les disposicions relatives a l'exportació de petroli i productes derivats de l'Iraq per a l'ajuda humanitària durant dues setmanes fins a 4 de desembre de 1999. El Consell de Seguretat havia elevat prèviament el límit del valor del petroli que permetia a l'Iraq exportar sota el Programa, i el límit augmentat seria vàlid fins al 4 de desembre. Tot i que alguns membres del Consell van recolzar l'adopció de la Resolució 1275 per assegurar la continuació ininterrompuda del Programa, van expressar la seva preocupació perquè el Consell no pogués assolir un consens sobre com abordar la situació de l'Iraq. - United Nations Security Council resolution 1275, adopted unanimously on 19 November 1999, after recalling resolutions 1242 (1999) and 1266 (1999) concerning the Oil-for-Food Programme, the council, acting under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter, extended provisions relating to the export of Iraqi petroleum or petroleum products in return for humanitarian aid for two weeks until 4 December 1999. The security council had previously raised the limit on the value of oil that Iraq was allowed to export under the Programme, and the increased limit would be valid until 4 December. Though several members of the Council supported the adoption of Resolution 1275 to ensure the uninterrupted continuation of the Programme, they expressed concern that the council was unable to reach a consensus on how to approach the Iraq situation. Disagreements amongst the Council continued to affect the adoption of further resolutions on the Oil-for-Food Programme. (en)
