Wiesław Stefan Kuc (born 2 September 1949 in Sokołów Podlaski) is a Polish politician andMember of the European Parliament (MEP) for LU,is the economist and agriculture expert of EP delegation ofSelf-Defenseand sits on the European Parliament's Committee on Budgets. Initially, he was a non-attached like the other members of his party,but on 1 December 2004, he joined[1]the Socialist Group together with Bogdan Golik. He rejoined his Samoobrona colleagues in the Union for Europe of the Nations group in December 2006, leaving Golik alone with the Socialists.

I Europaparlamentet var han först utan grupptillhörighet men var från december 2004 till december 2006 i Socialdemokratiska gruppen och därefter resten av mandatperioden i nationalkonservativa Gruppen Unionen för nationernas Europa. En förklaring till vacklandet i val av gruppering, som i Kucs fall gällde mellan socialdemokrater och nationalkonservativa under mandatperioden 2004–2009, har med Samoobronas linje att göra. Partiets ledamöter var valda att företräda en linje som kombinerar moralkonservatism och motstånd mot globalisering med en vänsterpolitik i ekonomiska frågor. (sv)
