The World Summit Awards (WSA) is an awards system that selects and promotes local digital innovation to improve society. WSA is an international platform focused on broadcasting cutting-edge examples of how Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs) can have a positive impact on society, at the local level. The World Summit Award was initiated in 2003, within the framework of the United Nations World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS). After the UN General Assembly adopted Resolution 56/183. As of 2022, WSA works with a daily growing network of representatives from 194 countries.

- Els World Summit Awards (WSA) és un sistema de premis que selecciona i promou la innovació digital local per millorar la societat. WSA és una plataforma internacional centrada en la difusió de mostres innovadores de com les Tecnologies de la Informació i les Comunicacions (TIC) poden tenir un impacte positiu en la societat, a nivell local. El Premi World Summit Award es va iniciar l'any 2003, en el marc de la World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS). Després que l'Assemblea General de l'ONU adoptés la Resolució 56/183 . WSA està dirigit pel International Center for New Media (ICNM), una organització sense ànim de lucre amb la seu a Salzburg, Àustria. L'ICNM el va fundar pel professor Peter A. Bruck, membre honorari de la junta de WSA, l'any 2002. L'ICNM organitza competicions nacionals, regionals i mundials per mostrar la riquesa i la diversitat dels mitjans digitals amb impacte social. WSA té 18 anys d'experiència internacional amb contingut digital de 182 països participants. WSA és un premi obert a empreses, organitzacions o persones de qualsevol dels estats membres de l'ONU i la UNESCO. El premi WSA es divideix en 8 categories diferents de WSA. WSA is managed by the International Center for New Media (ICNM), a non-profit organization based in Salzburg, Austria. ICNM was founded by Professor Peter A. Bruck, an honorary board member of WSA, in 2002. ICNM organizes national, regional, and global competitions to showcase the richness and the diversity of the digital media with societal impact. WSA has 19 years of international experience with digital content from 187 participating countries. WSA is an open award to companies, organizations, or individuals from any of the UN and the UNESCO Member States. The WSA Award is divided into 8 different WSA Categories.
