The "Red Terror" Martyrs' Memorial Museum in Addis Ababa was established in 2010 as a memorial to those who died during the Red Terror under the Derg government. The museum has displays of torture instruments, skulls and bones, coffins, bloody clothes and photographs of victims. In free tours of the museum, guides describes the history leading up to the Red Terror (starting from Haile Selassie's 80th birthday celebration), the actions taken toward citizens who opposed the Derg, how the prisoners were treated and how they secretly communicated among each other.

Seit 1974 herrschte in Äthiopien eine Militärregierung, die das Land realsozialistisch umgestaltete. Il museo venne inaugurato nel 2010 quale memoriale delle vittime del periodo di repressione noto come Terrore Rosso avvenuto durante il governo di Menghistu Hailè Mariàm e del regime del Derg. Nel museo sono esposte anche opere d'arte che hanno come soggetto la storia del Terrore Rosso.

- Het Herdenkingsmuseum voor de Martelaren van de Rode Terreur in Addis Abeba is een in 2010 geopend museum ter nagedachtenis aan hen die zijn gedood door de Rode Terreur ten tijde van het Derg-regime in 1977/78. Van 1974 tot 1987 heerste in Ethiopië een militaire junta onder leiding van Mengistu Haile Mariam. Deze junta werd Derg genoemd. Met steun van de Sovjet-Unie probeerden zij op een gewelddadige manier Ethiopië te veranderen in een socialistisch land. Vele tegenstanders van het regime zijn vermoord en verminkt, zogezegd omwille van een beter Ethiopië. (nl)

Il museo venne inaugurato nel 2010 quale memoriale delle vittime del periodo di repressione noto come Terrore Rosso avvenuto durante il governo di Menghistu Hailè Mariàm e del regime del Derg. Il museo, ad ingresso gratuito, racconta le violenze scoppiate a metà degli anni 1970, in occasione dell'80º anniversario della nascita di Hailé Selassié, che colpirono gli oppositori del regime Derg. L'esposizione include una collezione di strumenti di tortura, teschi e ossa, bare, vestiti insanguinati, fotografie delle vittime e altri cimeli che testimoniano come fossero trattati i detenuti e come essi abbiano potuto comunicare fra loro segretamente. Nel museo sono esposte anche opere d'arte che hanno come soggetto la storia del Terrore Rosso.
