| - The 1992 Italian presidential election was held in Italy on 13–25 May 1992, following the resignation of President Francesco Cossiga on 28 April 1992. Only members of Parliament and regional delegates were entitled to vote, most of these electors having been elected in the 1992 general election and in the 1990 regional elections. As head of state of the Italian Republic, the president has a role of representation of national unity and guarantees that Italian politics comply with the Italian Constitution, in the framework of a parliamentary system. - L'elezione del presidente della Repubblica Italiana del 1992 si è svolta tra il 13 e il 25 maggio. Il presidente della Repubblica uscente è Francesco Cossiga. Il 25 maggio risulta eletto al XVI scrutinio Oscar Luigi Scalfaro con 672 voti contro i 75 di Gianfranco Miglio. Cossiga, il cui mandato sarebbe scaduto il 3 luglio, si dimette il 28 aprile. Scalfaro presta giuramento il 28 maggio. (it)

Elle se tient du 13 mai, jour du premier tour de l'élection, au 25 mai 1992, lorsque est proclamée la victoire du démocrate-chrétien Oscar Luigi Scalfaro, à l'issue du 16e tour du scrutin.
