La decimonovena edición tuvo lugar el 16 de octubre de 2010 en la ciudad de Nanning, China, con la participación de 123 atletas provenientes de 30 países. La competición tuvo lugar en las calles de la ciudad, en un circuito con forma de ocho que empezó y terminó en la plaza Wuxiang, con un premio total de 245 000 USD, que incluía 30 000 USD para los campeones individuales y 15 000 USD para los campeones por equipos. - Het wereldkampioenschap halve marathon 2010 vond plaats op 16 oktober 2010. Het was de achtste keer dat de IAAF een wedstrijd organiseerde met als inzet de wereldtitel op de halve marathon. De wedstrijd vond plaats in de Chinese stad Nanning. In totaal namen 123 atleten uit 30 landen deel. Voor zowel de mannen als de vrouwen werd naast een individueel klassement ook een teamklassement samengesteld. - The 2010 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships was held in Nanning, China on 16 October 2010. The competition took place on the city streets, beginning and ending at , with a total prize purse of US$245,000 at stake. A total of 30 countries were represented at the 19th edition of the competition and 123 runners altogether were entered into the men's and women's races. The event was the final edition to be held on an annual schedule, as the competition switched to a biennial format for the 2012 championships. (en)

Der Leichtathletik-Weltverband IAAF hatte die Veranstaltung im November 2008 bei einer Ratsversammlung in Monaco an die chinesische Millionenstadt vergeben. Damit fanden zum zweiten Mal nach 2004 in Neu-Delhi Halbmarathon-Weltmeisterschaften in Asien statt. Es war das vierte Mal, dass die beiden Einzelsieger aus demselben Land kamen.
