Gubernatorial elections were held in Mexico on June 6, 2021. Governors were to be elected in the states of Baja California, Baja California Sur, Chihuahua, Colima, Guerrero, Michoacán, Nayarit, Nuevo León, Sinaloa, Sonora, Campeche, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Tlaxcala, and Zacatecas. The formal period of campaigning is from March 5 to June 2, 2021. According to the rapid count of INE, MRN won eleven states, PAN won two, and PVEM and MC one each. The big loser was PRI, which controlled eight gubernatorial offices prior to the election.
