Abdullah Ahmed Said Khadr (Arabic: عبد الله أحمد سعيد خضر; born April 30, 1981) is a Canadian citizen who is the oldest son of the late Ahmed Khadr. He was captured in Pakistan in 2004 and returned to Canada in December 2005. The US paid $500,000 for his capture. He fought a lengthy case to prevent extradition to the United States. It was concluded by an appeal to the highest court in Ontario; the judges unanimously decided in October 2011 in favor of the lower court to refuse the extradition request. Khadr was released from custody.
