- Aldgate es un del municipio londinense de la City de Londres. Toma su nombre de la antigua puerta oriental de la muralla de Londres, que daba acceso a Whitechapel y al East End. El primer registro del nombre del lugar aparece en un documento de 1052 con el nombre de Æst geat ("east gate", es decir, puerta del este), para transformarse en Alegate en 1108. Se encuentra a 4 km (2.3 mi) al este noreste de Charing Cross. (es)

- Aldgate est l'un des 25 Wards (quartier traditionnels) de la Cité de Londres. It gives its name to Aldgate High Street, the first stretch of the A11 road, which included the site of the former gate. The area of Aldgate, the most common use of the term, is focused around the former gate and the High Street and includes part of the city and parts of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It is 2.3 miles (3.7 km) east of Charing Cross. (en)
