Andreas Aurifaber (born Goldschmidt, 1514 – 12 December 1559) was a German physician of some repute, but through his influence with Albert of Brandenburg, last grand-master of the Teutonic Knights, and first Protestant duke of Prussia, became an outstanding figure in the controversy associated with Andreas Osiander whose daughter he had married.

W latach 1527 - 1534 studiował medycynę na Uniwersytecie w Halle i Wittenberdze uzyskując tytuł magistra. Później był rektorem szkół:od 1539 r. Szkoły Mariackiej w Gdańsku, a od 1541 r. Gimnazjum Akademickiego w Elblągu. W 1544 uzupełniał studia medyczne na Uniwersytecie Padewskim, po czym został lekarzem władcy Prus Albrechta Hohenzollerna i wykładowcą medycyny oraz fizyki na uniwersytecie w Królewcu, a od 1551 rektorem tej uczelni.
