Andrey Nikolayevich Belozersky (Андре́й Никола́евич Белозе́рский) (29 August, 1905 (Tashkent, Turkestan region, Russian Empire) – 31 December, 1972 (Moscow, Soviet Union)) was a Soviet biologist and biochemist, one of pioneer of molecular biology studies in the Soviet Union. Andrey Nikolayevich was Academic of the Academy of Sciences of the Soviet Union from 1962 and vice president of it from May 28,1971 – December 31, 1972. He conducted research related with composition of nucleic acids and their distribution in different organisms. He also obtained the first evidence of mRNA existence and lay the foundations of genosystematics.
