| - «Androgyny» es el primer sencillo de Beautifulgarbage, el tercer álbum de Garbage, lanzado mundialmente en septiembre/octubre de 2001. La canción elegida para presentar el nuevo disco de la banda marca una gran cambio en la dirección de Garbage. Fue lanzado el 24 de septiembre de 2001, lo que no permitió una buena promoción. Esto, más la reacción negativa de los fanes y las malas críticas, provocó que el sencillo tuviera una acción pobre en las listas de éxitos (a excepción de algunos países de Sudamérica y Europa del Este) y le dio mala fama al disco que promocionaba. La canzone rappresenta un netto cambiamento delle sonorità dei Garbage rispetto ai lavori precedenti, e anticipava l'uscita del terzo album del gruppo. Tuttavia la promozione del disco avvenne in concomitanza con gli attacchi dell'11 settembre 2001, e per questo non gli fu prestata l'attenzione sperata. Il risultato di vendite pertanto fu piuttosto deludente, anche se in Grecia ed in Messico il singolo ha raggiunto la posizione numero uno della classifica dei singoli più venduti. (it)
- Androgyny is een single van de Amerikaanse band Garbage. Het is de eerste single van hun derde studioalbum Beautiful Garbage. Met "Androgyny" laat Garbage een iets meer R&B- en funk-georiënteerd geluid horen dan de band eerder deed. Volgens drummer Butch Vig hebben de bandleden zich voor het nummer laten inspireren door Timbaland en Dr. Dre. De plaat flopte in Amerika, maar werd wel een bescheiden hit in een aantal Europese landen. Zo bereikte het de 24e positie in het Verenigd Koninkrijk. In het Nederlandse taalgebied was het nummer iets minder succesvol; met in Nederland een 4e positie in de Tipparade, en in Vlaanderen een 10e positie in de Tipparade. (nl)
