| - أشرف على التَّهَانَوي (1280 - 1362 هـ / 1863 - 1943 م) هو عالم ديوبندي وفقيه حنفي ، من أهل الهند. هو أشرف علي بن عبد الحق التهانويّ المعروف في شبه القارة الهندية بحكيم الأمة. ولد في بلدة في مديرية بولاية أترا براديش. وتخرج من الجامعة الإسلامية دار العلوم ديوبند عام 1299 هـ / 1882 م. وتوفي بتهانه بهون. يبلغ عدد مؤلفاته نحو ثمانمائة، منها نحو اثني عشر كتابًا بالعربية. He was a central figure of Islamic spiritual, intellectual and religious life in South Asia and continues to be highly influential today. As a prolific author, he completed over a thousand works including Bayan Ul Quran and Bahishti Zewar. He graduated from Darul Uloom Deoband in 1883 and moved to Kanpur, then Thana Bhawan to direct the Khanqah-i-Imdadiyah, where he resided until the end of his life.
