Asteroid B-612 were an Australian hard rock band, which formed in 1992. By the following year the line-up was Michael Gibbons on guitar, Grant McIver on lead vocals, Scott Nash on bass guitar, Darren Pierce on drums and John Spittles on guitar. They released four studio albums, Asteroid B-162 (1993), Forced into a Corner (1994), Not Meant for this World (October 1996) and Readin' Between the Lines (2000), before disbanding in 2004.

En 1996 dieron una gira por Estados Unidos. La carretera, la convivencia diaria y las fricciones fueron las causantes de la expulsión de Leadfinger del grupo. Meses después, el vocalista Grant McIver también lo dejó. Con la incorporación de Grahame Spittles (hermano de Johnny Casino) como nuevo cantante, Asteroid B-612 continuó hasta 2004. Asteroid B-612 publicó discos con discográficas españolas, como Roto Records y No Tomorrow Records. (es)
