Neste caso, pelo fato do disco lunar ter passado "de raspão", apenas na extremidade ou no limite da penumbra da Terra (não ultrapassou cerca de 0,25% da superfície lunar coberta pela penumbra), ele não sofreu praticamente nenhuma alteração visual quanto ao brilho ou ao escurecimento da Lua, ocorrendo apenas uma mínima redução no brilho lunar, apenas no polo sul do satélite. Dessa forma, o eclipse teve duração breve (não mais do que 18 minutos), sendo visivelmente imperceptível. (pt)
