- BIOS-3 est un système écologique fermé expérimental de l'Institut de biophysique de Krasnoïarsk en Sibérie (Russie). Sa construction a commencé en 1965 au temps de l'Union soviétique et s'est achevée en 1972. Dix expériences de séjour dans un écosystème clos y ont été menées entre 1972 et 1984 avec des équipages comportant de une à trois personnes. Le plus long de ces séjours a eu lieu en 1972-1973 et a duré 180 jours en impliquant trois personnes. Le laboratoire a été réactivé en 1995 pour des expériences menées avec l'Agence spatiale européenne portant sur la culture des plantes et le recyclage des déchets. (fr)

- BIOS-3 is an experimental closed ecosystem at the Institute of Biophysics in Krasnoyarsk, Russia. Its construction began in 1965, and was completed in 1972. BIOS-3 consists of a 315 cubic metres (11,100 cu ft) underground steel structure suitable for up to three persons, and was initially used for developing closed ecological human life-support ecosystems. It was divided into 4 compartments, one of which is a crew area. The crew area consists of 3 single-cabins, a galley, lavatory and control room. Initially one other compartment was an algal cultivator, and the other two 'phytotrons' for growing wheat or vegetables. The plants growing in the two 'phytotrons' contributed approximately 25% of the air filtering in the compound. Later the algal cultivator was converted into a third phytotron. (en)

- BIOS-3 fue un ecosistema cerrado del Instituto de Biofísica en Krasnoyarsk, Siberia, en lo que fue la Unión Soviética, siendo el precursor del Biosfera 2 estadounidiense en las disputas por la supremacía tecnológica típicas de la Guerra fría. Las instalaciones de BIOS-3 se usaron para dirigir 10 experimentos con uno de los tres hombres del equipo. El experimento más largo con un equipo de tres hombre duró 180 días (entre 1972 y 1973).
