- The Battle of Lechaeum (391 BC) was an Athenian victory in the Corinthian War. In the battle, the Athenian general Iphicrates took advantage of the fact that a Spartan hoplite regiment operating near Corinth was moving in the open without the protection of any missile throwing troops. He decided to ambush it with his force of javelin throwers, or peltasts. By launching repeated hit-and-run attacks against the Spartan formation, Iphicrates and his men were able to wear the Spartans down, eventually routing them and killing just under half. This marked one of the first occasions in Greek military history on which a force of peltasts had defeated a force of hoplites (heavy infantry). (en)

- La battaglia del Lecheo (391 a.C.) fu una battaglia nella Guerra di Corinto vinta dagli Ateniesi. Nella battaglia, Ificrate, generale ateniese approfittò del fatto che un reggimento oplitico spartano operativo vicino a Corinto si muoveva allo scoperto senza la protezione di alcuna truppa da lancio. Decise di effettuare un agguato con il suo reggimento di lanciatori di giavellotto, i peltasti.Con attacchi mordi e fuggi ripetuti contro la formazione nemica, Ificrate ed i suoi uomini riuscirono a sconfiggere gli Spartani, uccidendone poco meno della metà. Questo agguato rappresentò una delle prime occasioni nella storia militare greca in cui un contingente di peltasti ne aveva sconfitto uno di opliti. (it)

- La batalla de Lequeu va tenir lloc l'any 391 aC en el context de la Guerra de Corint a la vila de Lequeu (grec antic: Λέχαιον Lékhaion). Es van enfrontar els exèrcits d'Atenes i Esparta, i la batalla va acabar amb la victòria atenenca. La causa immediata d'aquesta victòria va ser que l'atenenc Ifícrates es va aprofitar que un regiment d'hoplites espartans que estava maniobrant a camp obert a prop de Corint, ho feia sense estar protegit pels projectils de cap mena de tropa. - De Slag bij Lechaeum was een slag tussen een Atheens en een Spartaans leger bij de haven van Korinthe in 391 voor Christus. In de slag haalde de Atheense generaal Iphikrates voordeel uit het feit dat een Spartaans hoplietenregiment bij Korinthe aan het marcheren was op een open vlakte zonder bescherming van speerwerpers of boogschutters. Hij besloot om het in een hinderlaag te leggen met zijn leger bestaande uit speerwerpers of peltasten.
