Daarmee was hij de 17e oudkatholieke aartsbisschop en de 84e opvolger van Willibrordus op de bisschopszetel. Hij is opvolger van Joris Vercammen. Wallet was pastoor van de Sint-Gertrudiskathedraal van 2015 tot 2020. Toen hij in februari 2020 aartsbisschop van Utrecht werd, zei hij: "Ik wil onze parochies uitdagen om een open huis te zijn voor mensen in onze omgeving en met vreugde de hoop uitdragen die in ons leeft."
