Transparency International's 2021 Corruption Perception Index (CPI) ranks Bahrain in 78th place out of 180 countries evaluated, where a high ranking corresponds to a perception of relatively high corruption in the public sector. The CPI rank shows Bahrain's level of perceived corruption relative to other countries in the Index. In contrast, the CPI score (recorded in the table below) estimates the level of perceived corruption itself. Bahrain became a party with United Nations Convention against Corruption in 2010 after signing it in 2005.
