Dadaocheng is an area in Datong District, Taipei, Taiwan. It was also known as Twatutia (a transliteration of the Taiwanese Hokkien Tōa-tiū-tiâⁿ), Daitōtei during Japanese rule, and Tataocheng (Mandarin) during the Kuomintang era. Dadaocheng was an important trading port in the 19th century, and is still a major historical tourist attraction and shopping area. The district is known for the local Taiwanese cuisine, the Chien-Cheng Circle, and also being the center of the February 28 Incident.

Vom Hörensagen ist bekannt, dass im Jahr 1853 viele Menschen aufgrund der bürgerkriegsähnlichen Auseinandersetzungen „ (頂下郊拼)“ in Mengjia nach Dalongdong flohen, die Bewohner von Dalongdong diese aber nicht aufnehmen wollten, so dass sie weiter nach Dadaocheng flohen. Weil sich die Transportbedingungen auf dem Danshui-Fluss verschlechterten, der Teemarkt sich aber erweiterte, wurde das Geschäftszentrum von Mengjia nach Twatutia verlegt, wo die internationalen Geschäfte in Taiwan abgewickelt wurden. Hier war das Zentrum in Nordtaiwan, bis der Wassertransport vom Landverkehr verdrängt wurde. (de)
