Following the move to Tucson, Gambrell became part of The Basement Apartments. She currently plays for Jenny and the Holzers. She grew up on Long Island, New York, and attended Williams College. She recently moved from the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York City, to Tucson, Arizona. By the spring of 2009, Dorothy had returned to Brooklyn. (en)
